5 styling tips for Montana sapphire engagement rings

Montana sapphires are perfect if you’re looking for a unique engagement ring with supremely ethical origins. We’re doing more and more designs with these stunning gemstones so we’ve got some great styling tips for you.

We've also got lots of great information in our full Montana sapphire engagement ring guide

#1 - They look great with a variety of metals

The unique teal of Montana sapphires work well with both white and yellow metals. Over the years we’ve found some customers think yellow gold and deep blue sapphires create an aesthetic that is too traditional, but the cooler tone of Montana sapphires can create a timeless design regardless of metal colour.

#2 - They pair very well with diamonds

Accessory diamonds can really compliment a Montana sapphire engagement ring. Take a look at the multi stone ring below to see what we mean.

The light reflections from the diamonds really elevate the centre stone and create a truly unique style, so consider a trilogy design or include melee diamonds around the band.

#3 - They’re much cheaper than diamonds

Given how unique, ethical and beautiful these gemstones are they’re surprisingly affordable when compared to diamonds. You can expect a Montana sapphire to be around xx% cheaper than a quality diamond of a similar size.

That means you can save money, or go for a bigger centre stone if you want!

#4 - Round, oval and pear cuts are the most popular

When Montana sapphires are mined they come out of the ground with a rounded shape, which is quite unusual. Most other sources yield very elongated rough gemstone. This makes them perfect for turning into rounded cuts.

#5 - Take time to pick out the perfect centre stone

Each Montana sapphire has a unique colour profile and blue/ green blend. It’s actually very rare to find two matching stones so when picking one out for your engagement ring spend extra time closely looking at their unique qualities to find one that really appeals to you.

You probably won’t come across another stone as unique as your own, so enjoy having a truly one of a kind engagement ring!

Need some help?

As you’ve probably guessed, we’re in love with these unique gemstones. We hope you like them as much as we do.
